Collaboration is essential to downtown revitalization. Main Street Macon builds and maintains partnerships with a variety of government entities and non-profit organizations to cultivate a vibrant downtown for businesses and patrons. Our partners play a key role in the downtown revitalization process by offering their own resources that are specific to their missions.

The Organization committee builds those partnerships with stakeholders in Macon’s Central Business District. Our partners are:

NewTown Macon

Urban Development Authority

Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission

The Cherry Blossom Festival

Macon Arts Alliance

Historic Macon Foundation

Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce

Macon-Bibb County Convention and Visitors Bureau

Macon-Bibb County Planning and Zoning Commission

Additionally, the Organization committee is responsible for the following:

  • Leading the development of the annual work plan
  • Host Annual Meeting
  • Weekly Partner meetings with NewTown Macon and the Urban Development Authority to discuss projects, business prospects, issues and upcoming events

Highlight: Hosted Heart & Soul Bus Tour by Georgia Municipal Association bringing 50 downtown developers, supporters, and state officials to Downtown and College Hill
